14 weeks old - reflection on maternity leave

Dear Maya,

I've had the last 14.5 weeks to be yours... and I had the time of my life.

And now we move on to new joys.

13 weeks old- Memories of Barbados

Dear Maya,

Auntie Keitha reminded me yesterday that it's been over a month since we last blogged to you!

Well we three have been all the way to Barbados and back so we have been buuusy.

Daddy and I took you and jet-setted to Barbados to meet all your aunties and uncles and cousins and friends.  Unfortunately we also met up with some mosquitos and Daddy and I spent several days in bed after returning, recovering.  You.. as always.. did great, thankfully.

From the time you landed, you showed signs of being an island girl at heart.  Here you are in Gabriel's car seat, grinning away, as we left Grantley Adams airport.

You met Mummy's Daddy for the first time and had fun yap yap yapping with him.

We celebrated Granny's birthday at Champers and had a delicious lunch.

We lay out on the beach..(this is one of my favourite pics of you)

There were soooo many friends and family members who came by just to meet you and wish you well, and you were a delight for them.  The one universal comment was that you look just like your Daddy... and in case I didn't get it..nothing like your Mummy :) We'll see..

This is an original piece of artwork that we looked at whenever nursing, in Auntie Nicole's room.  Once she signs it, it will be priceless :)

Here is Granny cutting some sorrel.  Mummy took a picture for you because here's something Mummy's not likely to eeeever do.. especially now she knows Granny is wearing gloves in case she comes across any centipedes.

And here you are saying goodbye to Granny and good times in Barbados.
