Weeks 32-33 BB - Dr. Bobo visit and home front updates

Dear Baby, we saw Dr. Bobo this week, and we are looking good! We're now up exactly 25 lbs.  You have done a very good job of taking all the iron you need to grow, and so Mummy will continue to supplement her stores.  Your heart rate is in the 150s, which is nice and confusing for all those who try to guess if you're a boy (supposedly 140's) or a girl (supposedly 160's)

Mummy took a pic of her fashionable maternity wear while waiting for Dr. Bobo

On the home front, we have made real progress in the past week.  The cement has been layed and they are assembling the steel frame for the garage as I'm writing this.

There was one day that we caught a patch of concrete that wasn't quite dry, and so Mummy drew a little something for Daddy:

The vegetable garden is growing by leaps and bounds, and the pumpkin has officially outgrown the box.

32 Weeks BB - belly popping, and Baby room

Dear Baby,
you made it!  Once you make it to 32 weeks, there's a really good chance that you will do well, even if you decide to come a little early.. but noooo rush!

Nowadays there are just occasional times that people can't tell how big you are getting (we think you're about 4 lbs now!):

But then.. boop.. there you are, popping right out..

And on a side profile.. there's nooo mistaking how well you're growing.

So we got to celebrate this week, by setting up your room.
Auntie Michelle wanted to make absolutely sure that we made your room look smart!  Mummy and Daddy learned what window valances are, AND they are part of a set of matching sheets and bedskirt.

Behold.. your room!
We put two adult chairs/recliners in the room, just acknowledging up front that we'll need a minimum of two adults to handle you at any one time.

31 weeks BB

Dear Baby,
we're in single digit weeks until your arrival.. 9 weeks to go!
Last weekend we went by Auntie Ady and Uncle Lester for a most delicious brunch lime (below).  This is the most up to date pic we have of the three of us; I'm not sure what Mummy is telling Daddy, but it doesn't look nearly as interesting as what Auntie Ady is telling Auntie Onica.

Baby, you and Mummy were on call that weekend and had some busy nights... after brunch we went almost directly to the hospital from there.. we unexpectedly operated until 11:30pm that night AND made it to a 7am meeting the following morning.  Baby you were wide awake for most of the night time activities, so if you're a night owl, you know who to blame..

It's quite warm here this week which makes us wonder if you'll have an Alaskan or Bajan thermostat ..

On the home front.. look what happened last Monday.. big twirly things and a Bob Cat appeared in the yard to dig nine holes for the foundation..

Then they brought all this sand in, but had to cover it with plastic  so that when this weekend's rain is over, they can put in some steel bars, hopefully pass a foundation inspection and then pour some concrete.   We are so excited because this will probably be done in time for your 32 week birthday (next weekend).

Jake is also very intrigued..

So Mummy keeps meeting women who tell her how much they looooved being pregnant, and some of them she suspects weren't all that happy during that time.
So for memories sake, Mummy decided to take some pictures of all survival goodies she's currently using - below we have
- Miralax and Colace.. a delicious addition to any meal
- silicone breast thingees.. essential to the strapless dress even before nursing begins
- cocoa butter for the ever-expanding belly
- Preparation H.. if you don't know what it's for just enjoy the ignorance
... all displayed on a lovely Bella-band to keep all those pants up.

Mummy got so into it, she decided to take a picture of her medication stash.  For comparison, Granny took only Cod liver Oil when she was pregnant, but we are simply in a different time.  Mummy chose to display these items on the toilet because this is where she spends a great deal of time.

Here is an up close picture.. the labels on the right you can't read are Bifera for anemia and Nexium.

It's so intriguing that Mummy will forget all of this once she meets you.

29 weeks BB

Dear Baby,
you are moving so much, we've started to wonder about you.. weird questions, like will you be bald or hairy? Although we haven't quite settled on possible boy and girl names for you, we have some winning thoughts.  Part of mummy would like to meet you and take her time deciding your name... but the other part needs to have the name ready so Daddy can go into the security office at his earliest convenience to get your SS # so we can get you a passport and start your 529 fund :)

We also have a mini-list of what we wish for you:
- may you follow your dreams, and make good decisions
- may you be authentic and honest
- may you find happiness
- may you be successful at what you choose
- may you contribute meaningfully as a citizen of the world

Ok here is this week's photo collection:

Jakie loving Baby:

How we got Jakie to keep quiet for the first picture:

Mummy can't ride to work anymore, so now we stalk Daddy whenever we can:

Baby this past weekend Daddy and I took a class called Newborn Care.  We learnt all about the 5 S's to help you to settle down:
Swaddling, shushing, sucking, side position, and swinging .. or something like that..we'll have to let you know how this works out.  Here's Daddy with expertly-diapered, racially-appropriate pseudo-baby.    Don't be jealous, we left this one behind and kept room in our hearts for you.

And finally, as a tribute to the Olympics, and the chance we got to watch a beautiful piece of history:
